WHAT'S NEW?

NEW - BAZOOKA-BUSTER WEAPON! (WIP)

FINALLY! A new toy to play with!

Yes, Cybernetta can now rock a brand new Bazooka-Buster! Try to find it! Use it against the Rat Boss at the end! (Lord knows he's been biding his time, getting even stronger... and slower!)

In addition, updated graphics for Ammo Pickups have appeared! Two different varieties - Green Chip is for your regular Buster-Gun, Purple Spike is for the brand-new Bazooka-Buster! (Both come packed inside nice, red capsules!)

The Bazooka-Buster is VERY powerful, use at your own risk - heavy recoil and a larger quarantine-blast radius mean it is just as dangerous to your adversaries as it is to you - try not to quarantine yourself! XD

I hope you enjoy playing around with your new toy!

One more thing to mention - I am consolidating the first 10 Legacy Builds into their own download. Builds 000-009, to be exact! I will be consolidating Legacy Builds into larger groups from here on out. Hope you don't mind!

ALL SOBERED UP - REMOVAL OF MOST AI ELEMENTS!

No, I haven't been drinking, I've just made the decision to "sober up" and not rely on AI for every bloomin' thing in the game. The ratio between handmade and AI elements was skewing way too much toward the AI, and the game just looked ugly to me...

... Which is why, apart from a few select things (some logos and the Rat Boss) The AI had to GO.

I've changed the walls to have only a select few textures. The regular walls are the same as the floor (pending) which actually looks decent. Walls designed for taking cover are changed to a texture from the earlier builds which you might recognize if you've been playing through all of them (like a nerd)

No more Anime overload on the wall textures, I've decided to start from square one and really re-think the aesthetic of the game. It looks a lot cleaner and a LOT less busy as a result. Expect future builds to use this aesthetic for the time being until either I come up with something better or refine what is already there.

I also made a couple accidental changes to some level design which I think work in the game's favor.

The exit doors no longer have that flat look, instead they dip into the walls by one tile, just like other doors, a change I've been meaning to make for a WHILE. This will be the norm for future builds and future maps going forward.

The Seed Foot Soldiers, and Cybernetta's Blaster have gone back to their original pre-rendered style. Because I've lost the mesh files for the blaster and the foot soldiers, any extra animations I will have to make will be done in 2D, like with the foot soldier's shooting and staggering animations, which have always been the case since these assets have been put in the game.

I think I have done everything I can do with what is in the game so far, so for the next few builds I will be making more graphical assets, more 3D models, (for use in a pre-rendered case) and coming up with designs for more SEED, more Bosses, and perhaps more varied pickups and weapons.

Fun times ahead! Consider this the start of a new milestone.

MISSION STATEMENT:

Cybernetta aims to be a family friendly First Person Shooter in the vain of Chex Quest with inspiration from those old-school novice Doom WADS and Wolf3D Mods - Like Simpsons Doom and those Sailor Moon Mods that were floating around at the time - where you don't kill the bad guys, you instead use your Quarantine Buster Gun and Capsule Shots to send the SEED to Quarantine HQ, where they will no longer cause trouble for CYBERNET.

PLOT IN BRIEF:

Cybernetta, the child of Prof. Atom and a female AI known as Mother Brain, is an Anti-Virus protocol whose mission is to protect the data of Humans from threats in CYBERNET. She is the sole obstacle between CYBERNET and real world threats. One day, after celebrating her 19th birthday, she couldn't take it anymore and initiated emotional meltdown procedures, as she had grown attached to humans and no longer wanted to be cooped up in the mazes and corridors of CYBERNET. Prof. Atom was about to work on manifesting this wish, but plans were cut short as the terrorist hacking group known as SEED seized this opportunity to inject malicious code into CYBERNET. Their leader even entered CYBERNET on his own, and locked himself in CENTRAL CONTROL with Mother Brain to make some... "changes". It's up to Cybernetta to clean up this mess and right this wrong, all while making sure Prof. Atom and her mother are safe! With support of Nebula from Quarantine HQ sending her supplies, she will make her way through all four sectors of CYBERNET to Central Control and put a stop to SEED! Into the 'Net we go!

Developed in Easy FPS Editor, this game is designed for Windows PC's and uses Void1Gaming's FREE EDM Music Pack, which you can find right here on itch.io!

Download the included .ZIP archive(s), and use whatever archive extracting tool you prefer to extract it to your desired location. Load "Game.exe" to play. Settings can be customized on the main menu using the mouse, or by pressing ESC to access the menu while in game. Some settings require a game reset to apply.
